All Falls Down by Ayden K. Morgen

All Falls Down
By: Ayden K. Morgen

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Pages: 329

50% of release day proceeds from All Falls Down will go to the National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH), a 24/7 toll-free hotline connecting domestic abuse victims with services and support all across the United States, in honor of Cassie M. Combs.

Summary:

When Savannah Martin walks in on her abusive boyfriend and her best friend in bed together, she thinks life can't possibly get any worse. And then she wakes up in a hospital in Italy, scared and alone. With nowhere left to go, Savannah runs to the family who took her in when her mother abandoned her as a teenager.

But things aren't as simple as they were then.

For starters, two years of constant emotional and verbal abuse has broken Savannah in ways she's not sure can be repaired. And patriarch Matthew Talbot has been murdered, leaving his eldest daughter, Lexi, in charge of a global non-profit and her younger sisters.

Jared Corbit, Lexi's gorgeous boyfriend, is the only thing standing between her and whoever murdered her father. That doesn't stop Savannah from falling in love with him. She knows it's wrong, but she just can't stay away from him when he makes he feel like no one else ever has before.

Finding out his relationship with Lexi is a ruse should make things easier, but when the truth is finally revealed, Savannah's fragile world threatens to fall apart. There's a murderer on the loose, and he's gunning for the only family she has. To save their lives, she and Jared will be forced to make a decision that just might destroy her completely.

How is she supposed to let the man she loves be with another woman?

Excerpt:

"Savannah, wait," Jared calls, grabbing my arm when I fling the front door open and step out. He pulls the door closed behind us before releasing me.
I immediately start walking again. My heart races and my left eye does that twitching thing it does when I'm about to cry. I just want to be away from him, away from me, away from wanting things I have no right to want from him.
He doesn't take the hint though and jogs down the steps after me.
"Jared, please," I whisper when he catches up to me. The wind is blowing hard, another storm moving in. I wish it would just blow me away. I could live in Oz with Dorothy and Toto. Adventures. Munchkins. Yeah, I could do that. "Let me go. Please, just let me go."
I'm not sure if I'm pleading with Jared or if I'm begging God to sweep me away with the wind, but neither listens to me.
"Savannah, stop," Jared says, grabbing my arm again.
I jerk to a stop, flinching away from him and the shock of his skin on mine. He takes my reaction for fear and immediately lets me go. Regret and guilt dance through his expression, wrecking me.
Tears start trickling down my cheeks.
I'm so tired.
I'm tired of barely sleeping.
I'm tired of avoiding him.
I'm tired of feeling guilty.
I'm just tired.
"Savannah," he breathes, his eyes widening when he notices my tears. He lifts his hand and it hovers in the air between us as if he can't decide if he should touch me again or not.
I sniffle.
He reaches out and grabs me instantly, pulling me in to him. And I go. Willingly.
My head nestles into the hard warmth of his chest. He wraps his arms around me, his head settling atop mine. For a minute, everything is perfect. All the guilt and doubts and self-loathing vanish, and it's just me and him. We both sigh in relief, in regret… and then I start crying in earnest.
"Shh, beautiful girl," he croons, running his hands up and down my back.
His touch is gentle, soothing, complete perfection. And so wrong.
Everything is just so wrong with this.
"Let me go," I cry and try to push away from him.
He shushes me again, refusing to let me pull away.
It doesn't scare me, but I fight harder.
I can't do this with him. I can't.
"You're okay," he soothes and I realize that I'm saying it out loud. Crying over and over again that I can't do this.
A sob catches in my throat and I slump against him, defeated.
"You're okay," he says again, rocking us back and forth.
For just a minute, I let myself believe him. I sink into his embrace. His warmth surrounds me. His heart hammers against mine. He smells so good, and I feel so safe, so secure.
"Why does this feel so right?"
I'm not sure if I'm even meant to hear his question, but I do. And I have no answer.
For just a minute, I don't want one. I just want… him.
Oh God, what am I doing?

River's Revenge - Book 3 of The Sanctuary Series - Available Now

I'm so excited to announce that River's Revenge is finally available.

Buy it now at AmazonBarnes & Noble or iTunes.

Jonathan and River are reunited but must hide the true nature of their relationship until all the carefully woven lies supporting the revolution start to unravel. Nothing but the truth can save them. Not only must they convince the citizens of New Eden that the prophecy is real, they must also prove Jonathan is the true son of Ephraim or face certain execution.

An excerpt from River's Revenge
River clung to Jonathan. They’d had five days together alone in the cave but now it was time to leave. Gabriel and Eli were waiting for them at the bottom of the cliff.
Gabriel would take Jonathan home to Reuben’s ranch. She’d go to Sanctuary Mountain with Eli.
Jonathan pressed his forehead against hers. “I don’t want to let you go.”
“I know.” She couldn’t let him see how hard this was for her or he wouldn’t let her go. “It’s only for a few weeks.”
“But you’ll be with him.” Jonathan growled the word.
River knew he was worried about the blood bond she shared with Eli. “I’ll be fine.”
“I can’t stand the thought of him touching you.”
She cupped his cheeks with her palms as she leaned back. “I won’t let him touch me when we’re alone, but Eli and I have to convince everyone that we’re a mated pair. So we’re going to have to at least hold hands in public.”
“That stupid blood bond should help sell the deception.”
“It will.”
Jonathan groaned. “Is that supposed to make me feel better?”
“No, but hopefully this will.” River pressed her lips to his.
Jonathan tangled his fingers in her hair and took control of the kiss. He hooked his forearm around the small of her back then jerked her body against his.
River’s eyes fluttered shut.
“Hey! What’s taking so long?” Eli’s shout intruded.
River pulled back then gave Jonathan a quick peck on the mouth. “We need to leave before he decides to climb up here and get us.”
“Let him.” Jonathan’s eyes still glowed with his wolf’s light. “It’ll take him at least an hour with that bum knee of his.”
“Jonathan.” River smiled and shook her head. “That’s not very nice.”
“I can think of all sorts of nice things to do while we wait.”
Gabriel’s form suddenly filled the opening of the cave, blocking the light. He shouted, “Jonathan!” then ran inside. He wrapped his long, muscular arms around Jonathan and River then squeezed the air out of both of them.
Jonathan grunted then laughed. “Hey, Gabe. It’s good to see you, too.”
Gabriel squeezed them even tighter. “I’m so glad you aren’t dead.”

Jonathan laughed again. “Me too.”

Chasing Rain (A Tropical Shifter/Vampire Romance Serial) by Ariel Adams

Episode One: Amazon
Episode Two: Amazon Pre-order

FREE TO KINDLE UNLIMITED SUBSCRIBERS

Rayne, a vampire-human hybrid, decides her eighteenth birthday is the perfect time to demand more independence from her coven and the wolf shifters hired to protect her. But no one can protect her heart from the pack's alpha, Blaze.

When a moment of passion has near lethal consequences, it only proves that water and fire don't mix.

In episode one, Rayne realizes her affection for the man that has been her bodyguard since birth is more than just a young girl's crush. Can Blaze follow his heart, or will his moral code prevent him from pursuing what he knows is meant to be?

Anyone who loves the wolves in Twilight or True Blood will enjoy this serialized novel.

Excerpt:
Blaze and Rayne had been running for hours when her body stiffened in pain. She grabbed her stomach and sank to her knees.
He slid to a stop, leaving deep gouges in the dirt with his claws, then shifted immediately. He didn’t wait for Rayne to toss him his shorts or turn around. He didn’t even warn her to close her eyes. She’d never seen anyone shift before. One instant he was a beautiful grey wolf. The next, a man. A gorgeous, ripped and very naked man. She caught a brief glimpse of his most private parts then slammed her eyes shut.
Blaze gently pried his shorts from her fist.
She cracked one eye, but he’d already turned his back, so she opened the other. This view was almost as impressive as the other. He jerked his shorts on then spun around as he zipped them.
If Blaze was embarrassed about Rayne seeing him naked, he didn’t show it. He placed his hand on her forehead. "What's going on? You feel a little warmer than usual. Your heart rate is a little elevated. Do you have a fever?”
Ever since Blaze started his EMT training, he was even more of a worrywart than usual.
“My heart rate is elevated because I was running.” Rayne pushed his hand off her forehead. “And I’ve never had a fever before so how would I know?”

The concerned look on his face tweaked her conscience for snapping at him. “I’m sorry. I've been feeling a little irritable lately."
She bit her lower lip and dropped her gaze to the ground as she thought about her violent mood swings. Irritable didn't begin to cover it. "I don't know what's wrong with me. I cry at things I used to just laugh at. I get extremely angry without much provocation. I'm always screaming at Kane to 'bite me'." Her face flushed with shame. She was the one doing all the biting. "But right now, the main thing that's bugging me are these damn stomach cramps.”
She was in Blaze's arms and flying through the jungle on the way back to the compound before she even realized he’d picked her up. Her cheek pressed against his naked chest. She didn’t mean to read his mind, but the sudden skin to skin contact caught her off guard.
His thoughts raced even faster than his heart. He was afraid.
"Blaze, stop. I’m fine. Really.”
Got to get her back to the compound so Weston can figure out what’s wrong.
"No, Blaze! I don't want to be poked and prodded all night. Those titanium needles really hurt!" There were very few things that could pierce her deceptively tough hybrid skin. Titanium happened to be one of them.
But Blaze didn’t listen to a word she said. He didn’t even acknowledge her objections in his mind. His thoughts jumped from one medical emergency to the next…appendicitis, parasitic infection, cancer.
They barely made it through the gate when Dad ran up to Blaze and snatched Rayne out of his arms. She was on the examination table in Weston’s medical hut before she could blink.
Weston was already gowned and gloved with his instruments laid out in the sterile operating room. Baylee shooed everyone outside while Elise stripped Rayne and swiped her stomach with an orange liquid.
Everything was happening too fast. “What’re you doing?”
“Blaze thinks you might have appendicitis.”
“He also thinks I have parasites and cancer.”
“There’s no way to know what’s going on until Weston examines you.”
Rayne grabbed Elise’s arm. “Don’t let him cut me open.”

Weston used his titanium needles to draw enough blood to feed an entire coven of vampires for a week. He also examined every part of Rayne. Elise stayed with her and held her hand. It helped, but Rayne couldn’t keep tears of humiliation from running into her ears as she stared at the waterfall poster tacked to the ceiling. At least she didn’t need any surgeries.
Weston nodded at Elise.
She let go of Rayne’s hand then nodded back.
Rayne wished they’d just speak out loud. She hated that she couldn’t read their thoughts without touching them. Her gaze darted between Elise and Weston. “What’s wrong with me?”
Elise’s eyes brimmed with tears, but her smile was one of pure joy, not sympathy. Weston’s face also bore a grin that lit up his entire countenance.
“Why are you two so happy?”
Elise leaned over and kissed Rayne’s forehead, sharing her thoughts. You aren't sick. You’re fertile.”
Rayne walked from the infirmary to the house in a daze. Female vampires were sterile. Rayne had been conceived when Mom was still human. She didn’t agree to let Weston turn her until after they found Cooper and learned that Rayne was also immortal. Mom didn’t want to watch her baby grow old and die while she remained forever young. Rayne learned all this before anyone realized she could read and, more importantly, understand their thoughts.
As soon as they figured it out, the vamps and shifters learned to keep at least one layer of cloth between themselves and Rayne if they didn’t want her to know what they were thinking.
Blaze’s voice was the first to reach Rayne’s ears. “I’m not leaving until someone tells me what’s wrong with Rayne.”
She froze in her tracks and grabbed Elise’s hand. “Don’t tell Blaze.”
Elise cocked her head to the side and frowned. “Why on earth not?”
“It’s embarrassing.”
“Oh, sweetheart.” Elise cupped Rayne’s face with her palms. “This is exciting, miraculous news.”
“Dad doesn’t think so.” He sounded angry as he ordered Blaze to leave.
“She’s got stomach cramps!” Blaze shouted at Dad. Not a wise thing to do. “If you know what’s wrong, why won’t you tell me?”
“Because it’s none of your business.”
“She has cramps, Blaze.” Mom used her peacekeeper voice. “Think about it. Remember Mrs. Sander’s health class?”
The house fell completely silent.
Rayne counted her heartbeats. One. Two. Three. Four.
“Seriously?” Blaze laughed. “Why didn’t you just say so?”
Rayne’s face burned. So did her eyes. She blinked furiously. Blaze was laughing at her.

Ariel Adams is taking readers by storm with her exciting and fast paced romance, Naked Edge. This four-part season will make you laugh and cry and get tingly inside. For mature readers.

Buy both episodes today or read free from the Kindle Unlimited library.

An excerpt from Episode One:

Boone’s expression of pure terror is priceless. He’s a skilled climber, but he’s afraid of heights. Go figure. I fire off another series of shots. If I can get one of my photos on the cover of just one climbing magazine, I can justify pursuing an art degree instead of the more practical Business Administration. I don’t have the luxury of pursuing a ‘fun’ career unless I’m sure I can support myself with it.
“Sky, back off, now. This isn’t safe.”
“I’m fine.”
“Well, I’m not.”
“Okay. Sorry.” I bend my knees and reach behind me so I can pull myself around with the rope. I realize it’s the wrong move, even as I do it. But it’s too late.
I slip on the loose gravel, lose my balance and tumble, headfirst, over the edge. My foot catches the side of Boone’s helmet as the rope flips me right side up with a bone-jarring jerk. I watch in horror as he pops a nut then pendulums to the right. He screams when he slams into the cliff.
“Boone! Are you okay?”
“Fuck!”
“What hurts?”
“My ankle. I think it’s broken.”
“Anything else?” I don’t see any blood, but he’s pressed against the wall, so I can’t really tell.
“No. Just my ankle. But it really hurts.”
“You’re okay. Try to stay calm.” I love Boone like a brother, but he tends to be a little overly dramatic. At least that last cam held.
Someone below yells, “Hang on. Help’s coming.”
I check my watch every few seconds, so even though it feels like it takes forever, I know it’s only been ten minutes when a sun-kissed, ruggedly handsome face peers over the ledge. It’s been over four years since I’ve seen Rusty Daletzki, but I’d recognize those ice-blue eyes even if it had been a hundred.
My stomach clenches as heat floods my cheeks. Damn. All I can see is his chiseled face and broad, muscular shoulders, but my imagination fills in the rest. His helmet hides his coal black waves but I’ll bet his hair is just as silky as it ever was. My fingers tingle with the desire to find out. It’s clear that Rusty’s even hotter at twenty-one than he was at seventeen. Much hotter.
“Are you injured?” Rusty’s voice is still smooth as velvet, but it’s deeper than I remember.
I blink and lick my lips as heat floods my body. It takes a few seconds for his words to cut through the haze of lust clouding my brain. Jesus, what’s wrong with me? What sort of a slut gets turned on during a rescue?
It’s obvious Rusty’s checking me out, but it’s purely clinical. He acts as if he doesn’t recognize me. Sure, my hair’s shorter now. It only reaches my shoulder blades instead of my waist. It’s darker too, more of a mahogany brown instead of a sun-bleached, chestnut red. I spent the last three years indoors with my sick mother instead of surfing with my friends in San Diego so the sun didn’t have a chance to lighten my hair. I’m a size six instead of a size two. My boobs are a solid C instead of barely a B. But I haven’t changed that much.
My eyes are still hazel and too big for my face. There’s still a cleft in my chin. I still have the same full lips Rusty could never get enough of. There’s no way he doesn’t know who I am. “I’m fine. But Boone thinks he’s hurt.”
Rusty’s gaze unlocks from mine. His brow furrows. “Boone? Are you okay?”
“I’ve been better.” His voice is soft, quiet. No longer frantic. And that scares me. Maybe he really is hurt.
I shouldn’t have pushed Boone to let me lead. I shouldn’t have gone off route. I should’ve tied Boone off into the anchor instead of keeping him on belay while I traversed back and forth trying to get the best shot. This is my fault.
Rusty presses a button on the two-way radio attached to his shoulder harness. “Base, this is Rusty Daletzki. We have one injured climber on the top third of the final pitch of The Bastille Crack. Male, twenty-one, conscious and responsive. We also have an uninjured female stranded near the summit.”
Rusty continues to talk into his radio as another helmeted face peers over the ledge. A gorgeous, feminine face. Crap. It’s Rusty’s stepsister, Anna. She was always trying to get Rusty to break up with me.
She appraises me with undisguised loathing then looks at Rusty with more than just sisterly affection in her gold-flecked, dark brown eyes. I want to claw them out of her head.
Rusty returns his gaze to me. He speaks with cool professionalism. “Okay, Skylar. Let’s get you out of here so we can get to Boone.”

I knew he recognized me. I want to say something to him, but my brain seems to have blown a fuse. All I can do is nod like an idiot as Anna slips over the edge to attach redundant gear to my harness. She glares at me the whole time. I’m tempted to ask, ‘just what the hell is your problem,’ but decide antagonizing the person who literally has my life in her hands is a bad idea.
